Akash Chopra picks all time best CPL XI

The Caribbean Premier League (CPL) has got the acceptance amongst cricket fans over the years. The league has given an opportunity to the young cricketers in the West Indies to get the ticket to the national team. The league has completed seven successful editions and the eighth season of the T20 island is set to commence on August 18 amid the pandemic and will run till September 10 in Trinidad and Tobago. Former India cricketer Aakash Chopra has named his all-time CPL XI.

Undoubtedly, the openar went to Chris Gayle and Colin Munro for opening the innings. For the one down position, he picked Nicholas Pooran .The trio has been exceptional in the CPL with the bat. Meanwhile, Gayle is the the Universe Boss who has amassed 2354 runs in 76 matches.

Aakash Chopra, then picked four exceptional T20 players in his team. He went with Shoaib Malik to bat at number four postion. Meanwhile, Kieron Pollard, the current West Indies limited-overs skipper, was picked to bat five. Pollard has been picked for his destructive T20 skills with a strike-rate of 148.5 in 70 CPL matches.

The best all-rounders in the shortest format, Andre Russell has been picked after Pollard. While Dwayne Bravo has been picked after Russell. Aakash Chopra went to Sunil Narine, Sheldon Cottrell, Sohail Tanvir and Krishmar Santokie to complete the bowling department as well as the XI.

While Narine has got the familiarity as a pinch hitter by batting at the beginning of the match and his bowling needs to introduction. Meanwhile, Tanvir is among the best in the tournament’s history with 63 wickets in only 54 games while Cottrell and Santokie have also been brilliant in their trade.
