The start wasn’t convincing for Bangladesh as they lost Liton Das in the second over. Sabbir Rahman was promoted at No.3. He was sent back for 13 runs by Mohammad Nabi. The approach of Bangladeshi batsmen were different in this match as they looked to take on the bowlers.

Tamim Iqbal and Mushfiqur Rahim stood up when it was needed most. Mushfiqur was stumped for 17-ball 22. Mahmudullah Riyad marked his arrival with a huge six in his first ball he faced off Nabi. He too couldn’t capitalize on his start.

Bangladesh then collapsed as the danger man Rashid Khan was introduced in the latter half of the innings. The leggie sent back Shakib Al Hasan in the first ball of 16th over. He sent back Tamim and Mosaddek in consecutive deliveries in the same over. Tamim made a slow 48 off 43 with 5 fours.

Soumya couldn’t do much on his return. It was Abu Hider to delivered the Tigers a total of something to bowl. His 14-ball 21* helped Bangladesh post 134/8. Afghan pacers were expensive compared to spinners. Rashid bagged 4 wickets for 12.

Nazmul Islam Apu started the innings with two maidens in his first two overs. Mohammad Shahzad was dropped by keeper Mushfiqur in the first over. He didn’t too much of damage as Abu Hider got him lbw for 24.

Afghanistan were scoring at a slower run rate which put the pressure back on them. Usman Ghani departed scoring 31-ball 21. Skipper Asghar Stanikzai failed to score as he was stumped off Mosaddek.

Samiullah Shenwari batted for a long time to give his side some hope. He made 49 off 40 including 2 fours and 3 sixes. He was bowled by Mosaddek in the 18th over.

Afghanistan required 20 runs to win with two overs to go. Nabi took five balls off Rubel’s over to finish the game to seal six-wicket win. Nabi scored 15-ball 31* runs with 3 fours and 2 sixes.
