Andre Russell denies BBL to play in BPL 2019-20

The seventh edition of the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) is set to take place on December 11. This year, the BPL will be under the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) for the birth anniversary of father of Bengali nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.

Andre Russell denies BBL to play in BPL 2019-20

Due to which the name had been changed to ‘Bangabandhu’ BPL. The teams had arranged their team with world stars. Destructive West Indies all-rounder Andre Russell will play in this year’s BPL.

Although he was not named in the players’ draft, he was later added to the team by Rajshahi Royals. The Caribbean all-rounder had rejected the offer of Big Bash League (BBL), one of the world’s most popular franchise leagues to play for Rajshahi in the upcoming BPL.

BBL will start on December 17 of this month. Russell received a proposal to play for the Melbourne Renegades. However, Russell wanted to play in the BPL for Rajshahi. So he turned down his offer to play for the Renegades.

Russell also played in the last BPL. He played for Dhaka Dynamites. Dhaka Dynamites are no longer as the franchise tradition had changed.
