Babar Azam reminds me of Zaheer Abbas, says Javed Miandad
Pakistan legend Javed Miandad accepts skilled batsman Babar Azam is a great talent for Pakistan cricket, saying Babar reminds him of Asian Bradman Zaheer Abbas.
“Babar is an extraordinary ability and the manner in which he plays is much the same as that of previous test cricketer Zaheer Abbas. He simply needs to tune himself a piece when playing on foreign tours as indicated by the wickets there,”
Miandad, who was communicating his perspectives on the Pakistan-Bangladesh Test, said on his YouTube Channel.
Babar Azam hit an outstanding 143-run innings in the Pakistan-Bangladesh first Test which was won by the hosts by an innings and 44 runs. Miandad, who played for Pakistan in Tests and ODI somewhere in the range of 1975 and 1996, was all commendation for sprouting youth Naseem Shah for his hat-trick in the Test format.
“Quick bowlers consistently perform better at home grounds as they know the art of reverse swing and our pacers did amazing in the Test format,” he said.
However, in less than a session time in the fourth day of the first Test at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium, hosts Pakistan took away a comprehensive win by an innings and 44 runs against Bangladesh on Monday, February 10. With the win Pakistan gathered 60 points in ICC World Test Championship.
The second and final Test between the two sides will be played from 5-9 April.
