Bangla Tigers unveil logo; Fletcher added to roster
Abu Dhabi T10 franchise Bangla Tigers have unveiled their logo during a ceremony in Chattogram on Saturday evening.
Yasin Chowdhury is the owner of the franchise and he unveiled the logo in Chattogram alongside Chattogram City Corporation Mayor Mr AJM Nasir Uddin, who attended as chief guest.
After revealing the logo, Yasin insisted that the motive to participate in T10 league is to represent Bangladesh and the players of the country.
“With direct patronisation from the Abu Dhabi government, the T10 league has emerged as one of the most exciting cricket tournaments in the world with participation of the leading cricketers in the world. Bangla Tigers are going to participate in the third season of the tournament with the aim to represent Bangladesh and promote Bangladesh cricketers.”
“I hope the newest format of cricket [T10] will play a significant role in the development of Bangladesh cricketers. We believe Bangladeshis all over the world are owners of Bangla Tigers and so I request their full support,” he said.
Meanwhile, co-owner Shirajuddin emphasised that they not only want to promote the cricketers, but also the local coaching staffs.
“Following discussions with authorities, we came to the decision to promote team support staff from Bangladesh. We have already appointed former national cricketers Aftab Ahmed, Nafees Iqbal and Nazimuddin as head coach, manager and assistant coach respectively. Another former cricketer, Yasin Arafat, will also work as an assistant coach,” he said.
