Bangladesh ‘A’ level series in a thriller
Bangladesh A level the three-match ODI series against Sri Lanka A 1-1 after a narrow win by 1-wicket on Thursday.
After a disappointing defeat in the first one-day, Bangladesh A came back strongly to level the series. Chasing 227, Naim Sheikh’s 68 and Mohammad Mithun’s 52 helped the visitors to clinch the narrow win.
Bangladesh A asked the hosts to bat first after winning the toss. Sri Lanka A managed to put up a fighting total of 226 runs losing 9 wickets. Sunjamul Islam and Ebadot Hossain picked up two wickets each while Afif Hossain picked up one.
In reply, Naim started off well and scored a well-deserved fifty in the end. Mohammad Mithun also joined in and scored 52. Bangladesh A needed 9 runs to win in the last over with two wickets in hand. Ramesh Mendis, the most successful bowler for the visitors bowled the final over, but Sunjamul won it for the visitors in the end.
After the dismissal of Ebadot in the second last ball, Sunjamul faced the last delivery with one run to win and also one wicket in hand, he took a single successfully to take Bangladesh over the line and level the series.
