Bangladesh women’s team have qualified for the upcoming T20 World Cup in 2020 after beating Ireland in the semi-final of the qualifiers.
While it was quite an off day for the men’s team in the first day of the Test against Afghanistan, Bangladesh Women’s team had a day to remember as they qualify for the upcoming T20 World Cup after beating Ireland by 4 wickets at Dundee.
Ireland elected to bat first after winning the toss, but they were in all sorts of trouble with 44/5. They couldn’t come back after the early damage and saw themselves fall apart for only 85 runs in the end. Although, they have played the full 20 overs.
Bangladesh’s bowling department equally contributed in the attack as Jahanara Alam, Nahida Akter, Salma Khatun and Ritu Moni all picked up one wicket each. However, the bowler of the day for Bangladesh was Salma Khatun, who picked up three wickets and conceded only 18 runs in her 4 overs.
In reply, Bangladesh also didn’t find themselves in a good position in the chase as the lost their first four wickets under 30 runs.
