Bangladesh U-19 team were blown away by England U-19 team in their first match in ICC U-19 World Cup. However, the young Tigers turned around in a fantastic way as they brushed aside Canada U-19 in their second match.
Canada won the toss and elected to bat first. However, they couldn't make it count as they were all out for an underwhelming total of 136. In reply, Bangladesh U-19 team reached the target with 8 wickets and 119 balls in hand.
Wicketkeeper Anoop Chima was the only one who looked dangerous in the batting line up of Canada. He scored a well fought 63 of of 117 deliveries. However, he lacked any sort of support form the other end. For the Tigers, Ripon Mondol and SM Meherob picked up 4 wickets each.
Bangladesh did not face much issues while chasing down the total. Despite opener Mahfijul Islam being dismissed relatively early, Iftakher Hossain and Prantik Nawrose Nabil stitched a solid 76 runs stand to assure the victory for the Tigers. After Nabil's wicket, Aich Mollah and Iftakher took the young Tigers home. Iftakher also reached his fifty in the process.
