The match will be held at the Allan Border Field in Brisbane. This will be Thailand’s maiden appearance at a major ICC event.

Interesting fact is, these two teams faced each other in the final of the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup Qualifiers as well, where the Tigresses ended up winning the title by handing their Thailand counterparts a 70-run defeat.

While Bangladesh are getting a relatively easier opponent in their first warm-up game, they will be faced with tougher opposition in the form of Pakistan in their second warm-up game on Tuesday.

Bangladesh are also in the tougher group of the tournament proper. They have been bracketed in Group A alongside the hosts Australia as well as India, Sri Lanka and New Zealand.

Bangladesh will play their first match of the tournament proper against India on February 24.

Ahead of their Sunday’s warm-up game against Thailand, Nigar Sultana was confident of his team making this World Cup count for themselves.

“We have been practicing so long for this tournament and this time we want to make this World Cup count.

“We did not play really well in the last World Cup but some players did very well. Our bowling unit especially they did very well, so this is the thing we can carry forward from this tournament,” she said.
