BCB development coach contracts coronavirus
This time the grip of coronavirus also fell on the cricket yards of the country. Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) Development Coach Ashiqur Rahman has contracted the deadly coronavirus. He informs it on Tuesday, May 12 to Bdcrictime.
He’s been close to former Bangladesh captain Mohammad Ashraful for long time.
He has been admitted to Mugda General Hospital in the capital with cold and cough. He is currently undergoing treatment. He is being given oxygen support at the hospital.
“I was admitted to the hospital today (yesterday),” he said. “However, I received the report only yesterday and the report showed COVID-19 positive.”
The former assistant coach of the Bangladesh women’s cricket team has been feeling ill for the past one week. He was taken to the hospital in the afternoon yesterday on the advice of Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) doctor Debashish Chowdhury.
Ashiqur has been the coach of BCB Game Development. He was also the assistant coach of Prime Bank cricket team including Old DOHS in Premier Division Cricket League.
Sick Ashiqur did not lose his morale. He has a lot of work to do. More about the courageous attitude he said, “We were born to fight. I was born to win.”
It’s his wish that he can win this battle and come back to the world of cricket. The former cricketer and coach seek blessings from all cricket organizers, coaches and players.
It may be mentioned that Ashiqur Rahman was a former fast bowler of Bangladesh U-19 cricket. He also played for Bangladesh in the 2002 Under-19 World Cup. He also has 15 first-class matches and 18 List A matches in his six-year career. He took 36 wickets in the first class match at an average of 25.41.
