BCB to strictly monitor Sri Lanka’s security situation before July series
The island nation was struck with terror attacks last month.
“We won’t say the series is uncertain, but we are monitoring the situation through the Bangladesh High Commission and our foreign ministry,” cricket board chief executive Nizamuddin Chowdhury said.
Bangladesh’s one-day international series in Sri Lanka was earlier scheduled to take place in December which was dragged forward to happen in July now.
But the fatal terror attacks during this year’s Easter Sunday in a number of churches across Sri Lanka killing more than 250 people shook the fate of the series.
“We will also see what the Sri Lankan Cricket board has to say about the present situation,” the BCB official added.
In last March, the national team was terribly troubled escaping in a slender margin of time from the deadly terrorist attack in Christchurch Mosque in New Zealand that killed 51 innocent people.
