BCL helps Nayeem to get good results in bowling
Bangladesh are relaxed at the end of the first innings of Zimbabwe as they bundle out Zimbabwe for 265 runs. Spinner Nayeem Hasan and pacer Abu Jayed lead the bowling attack as they both take 4 wickets each.
Nayeem spoke at the press conference after the first day of play on Saturday (February 22). He added that the wicket had been useful for batting.
“I am in a really good position. The wicket is good and the bowlers from the other side are bowling very well. When the run is coming slowly from both sides, the wickets are coming and when you’re in the crease, it seems easier to bat.”
He added, “My main target was to bowl long in the right place. In which I am succeeded. In fact, we need the spinners’ pace variation, we have tried to bowl a lot in one place, bowling without a run.”
Nayeem had bowled well in the Bangladesh Cricket League (BCL). His practice in match play had also been good. From there he had developed confidence. “There (BCL) I got 21 wickets, I bowled a lot there and I got confidence,” he said. “Confidence is greater when you are in a match than in practice.”
