Bengal CM Mamata and Bangladesh PM Hasina to ring Eden Bell on India’s first D/N Test
Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee will ring the customary Eden Bell to initiate the the first ever Day Night Test for both Bangladesh and India starting from November 22-26.
The proceeding has been confirmed to the media by the Cricket Association of Bengal secretary Avishek Dalmiya on Saturday at Eden Gardens.
The first ever day night Test affair of both the countries is going to be a grand occasion in Kolkata where eminent personnel from both sides of Bengal will be gathered at the Eden Gardens that includes Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and West Bengal governor Jagdeep Dhankar.
Prominent sports stars of India will also be among starry onlookers of the occasion. Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB) invited cricket icon Sachin Tendulkar, Olympic champion Abhinav Bindra, tennis star Sania Mirza, world badminton champion PV Sindhu and six-time boxing world champion MC Mary Kom to be present at the Eden Gardens.
CAB secretary also revealed that specially designed mementos will be presented to the dignitaries after they will make a round to the stadium on golf carts.
The CAB have also invited all members of Bangladesh-India first-ever Test in 2000. It can be noted that Sourav Ganguly, the present BCCI president made his debut in that particular Test match as a Test captain.
