BPL 2019 to bring all latest broadcasting technologies

Aiming to bring revolutions in the broadcasting standards, Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has taken measures to install all the latest technologies in the field during the forthcoming Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) 2019. 


BPL, the largest domestic T20 league in Bangladesh that attracts big foreign stars from all over the globe, has been established as one of the major leagues in the cricket world.

The high-tech gadgets that BCB settles to apply this year include latest stump cameras, spider cams, drones in the stadium enhancing the quality of television views.

This is for the first time, drone cameras are going to be introduced in BPL. The spider cams which have been in use in IPL, BBL, is now going to be installed in BPL as well, will capture the best top angle shots from the pitch.

In order to cover the total ground, 35 cameras in total with 18 manned camers that will provide 360-degree views, are going to be operated across the venues.

Among the other radical changes, BPL is using two-way stump cameras in the matches for the first time in the history. The stumps have been fitted with both front and rear cameras so that the viewers will not miss whatever is happening in the front and behind the crease.

Also, the Zing Bails Lightning Technology has been introduced by the organizers for the first time. The lights of the bells will flash up whenever anything comes into contact. It is a way to notify the fall of wickets to the distant crowds. 

Alongside the Decision Review System (DRS) that also has been introduced for the first time in the BPL, the broadcasters are using two ultra-motion cameras aiding television umpires to catch all the edges.

The Hawk Eye technology for using to track the ball, will also be making its debut in the BPL.
