Captains reveal one player they want in their team

The captains of all the ten teams were asked to tell about one player they would like to have in their team from players currently active during media talk prior to the World Cup.

A one-hour event was held on Thursday where all the captains gathered together and talked to the media ahead of the World Cup. They were asked various questions, but the one which was interesting the most was when they were asked to pick one player currently active whom they would like to have in their team.

Bangladesh captain Mashrafe Bin Mortaza picked the Indian captain Virat Kohli while Eoin Morgan, the captain of the hosts England picked former Aussie captain Ricky Ponting, who is in the coaching staff in this World Cup.

Eoin Morgan: “I came to know about Ricky Ponting coaching Australian team so definitely I would love to have him in my side”

Virat Kohli:  “AB is retired I would have definitely picked him but have to pick from the active lot so I’ll pick FAF du Plessis, he is a great friend and definitely someone with whom I would like to bat”

Sarfraz Ahmed: ” Jos Buttler, would pick Buttler in my side”

Jason Holder:  “I think I am happy with my current squad so I won’t pick anybody”

Gulbadin Naib: “Our team is perfect too, am happy with my team, won’t pick anybody”

Faf Du Plessis: “Pitches are really good, there are going to be plenty of runs so I believe bowling is going to win u matches in later part of the tournament. Bumrah is bowling really well in all formats and from Australia Pattrick Cummins. I would like to have bowlers like them in my team and batsman would definitely be Virat Kohli

Aaron Finch: “I would pick KG Rabada. He is phenomenal and someone who can win you games on his own”

Dimuth Karunaratne: “I would include ben stokes in my team. He can win u matches on his day and he is someone I would like to have on my side”

Mashrafe Mortaza: “That guy sitting there, Virat Kohli. He is someone I would love to have in my team”
