Chandimal ruled out of Asia Cup 2018

Sri Lankan wicket keeper batsman Dinesh Chandimal has been ruled out of the up on upcoming  Asia Cup due to the fracture in his middle finger.

14th edition of Asia Cup is all set to star on September 15th in United Arab Emirates with six teams competing for the title. Sri Lanka and Bangladesh will play the tournament opener.

All the six teams have announced their final squads for the tournament. So on Sri Lanka have also announced their squad.

Dinesh Chandimal has been named as the wicket keeper for Sri Lanka in the tournament. Earlier it was reported that he is struggling from a fracture in his middle finger that happened during Sri Lankan domestic T20 tournament.

It was stated that Sri Lankan Cricket Board will make a call on his injury this week. On 10th September the board has announced that the right handed wicket keeper batsman is ruled out of the tournament as he doesn’t recovered from the fracture enogh.

Niroshan Dickwella has been named as the replacement for Dinesh Chandimal. He is been in the stand by since squad was announced.

Earlier Dickwella had to make way for Chandimal in the Asia Cup squad after the poor performance of the left handed batsman in the hime series against South Africa.
