‘Chasing 170-180 not that hard’

Ahead of the important match against Sri Lanka in the Nidahas Trophy, Bangladesh pacer Taskin Ahmed said Tigers batsmen have to do well and score at least 170-180 to win the match.

“It is a good wicket, so chasing 170-180 isn’t that hard,” Taskin told the reporters on Friday.

He has blamed the batsmen saying they should have scored more runs in the first match against India. “We have to bowl better, but I guess we should have scored more runs [in the previous game] too,”

Taskin also said the wicket was a key factor in the match against India which was not in their favour as they Bangladesh are used to in playing different pitch in their country.

He added, “We have different wickets in our country and the wickets here are different type. Different ground, different pitch. If we can make a good total with the bat and continue our good bowling then a good result will be possible. Although there will be pressure as he lost our previous two matches against them, still we are hopeful to make a good comeback.”

“To be honest we were lack of 25-30 runs. If we scored these runs, the story could have been different. We have to make sure that we don’t make the mistakes again. We are now thinking about tomorrow’s game only,” he concluded.
