Clinical bowling effort seals big win for Delhi
A top class bowling fro Delhi Capitals triggered a massive comeback to secure a comfortable victory against Sunrisers Hyderabad in match number 30 in the Indian Premier League (IPL).
After winning the toss, Hyderabad opted to bowl first and they were off to an amazing start, removing Prithvi Shaw and Shikhar Dhawan early to the dressing room.
Colin Munro (40) and Shreyas Iyer (45) repaired the damage and built a solid partnership to bring Delhi back into the game. However, in the end, disciplined bowling from Khaleel Ahmed and Bhuvneshwar Kumar restricted Delhi to 155.
In reply, the dynamic duo David Warner and Jonny Bairstow were once again off to a good start and they put 72 runs in the opening partnership.
Bairstow was the first man to depart for 41 while Warner played a steady knock of 51 from 47. And the slow start from the openers hurt Hyderabad in the end as in the middle overs the required run-rate kept climbing and wickets were tumbling.
Hyderabad completely lost their way in the death overs and the new purple cap holder Kagiso Rabada tore apart the lower order and finished with match figures of 4 for 22. Chris Morris equally supported his South African mate and picked up 3 wickets, conceding just 22 runs.
