Cricket Australia announce squad for Bushfire Cricket Bash

In the latest development, Cricket Australia (CA) has announced the full squads for the eagerly anticipated Bushfire Bash, a charity game which will be played at Sydney Cricket Ground (SCG) on Saturday (February 8). It should be noted that this game will be played for the victims of the widespread bushfire victims that recently affected a big part of Australia including its capital Canberra.

Australian legends are coming out of retirement for a great cause.

The game will feature legendary cricketers namely Ricky Ponting, Brian Lara and a lot more. Brian Lara also confirmed his participation on Friday. Besides Yuvraj Singh and Wasim Akram, he will be only the third overseas player to take part in the charity match. Sachin Tendulkar and the West Indies legend Courtney Walsh will coach the two teams.

Meanwhile, Australian legends Ricky Ponting and Shane Warne will skipper the sides at the SCG. Apart from them, the match will have a plethora of Australian legends taking part in the game.

This includes former skipper Michael Clarke, Adam Gilchrist, and Andrew Symonds as well. Moreover, Steve Waugh and Mel Jones will also take part in a non-playing capacity and the funds raised from the charity game will be donated to the Australian Red Cross Disaster Relief and Recovery Fund.
