Cricketer Arafat Sunny arrested

Bangladesh Cricket team’s cricketer and left arm spinner Arafat Sunny has been arrested by Dhaka Mohammed Pur Police station on Sunday. [Read in Bangla: যে কারনে গ্রেফতার করা হলো আরাফাত সানিকে]

It is learned from a national television channel Jamuna Television that he has been arrested under the Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Act.

He was arrested from Amin Bazar in Dhaka by the Police and was taken to the Mohammed Pur Police station confirmed the Jamuna Television as well as various other sources.

Though there is no much detail yet about the complain and the police case for which he has been arrested. But it is said that the complainant is a female. She filed a case due to social networking site facebook harrasment. Her name is Nasreen Sultana.

The national cricketer will be taken to court within today for further progress of the case.

30 Years old left arm spinner Arafat Sunny have played 26 One Day Internationals for Bangladesh Cricket team and also was the part of the team that played the Icc World Twenty/20 in India last year.
