CSK suspends practice sessions at Chepauk

The novel coronavirus pandemic has already sabotaged the international calendar of various sporting events all across the world. In the recent development, IPL has been postponed till April 15 amid growing coronavirus fears.

So far 81 confirmed cases of the novel coronavirus have been reported in India with 16 of them being Italian nationals, who came on a tour to the nation. Following the coronavirus outbreak, the ongoing ODI series between India and South Africa was also called off.

Meanwhile, the three-time Indian Premier League (IPL) champions Chennai Super Kings (CSK) have also suspended their practise sessions at the M. A. Chidambaram Stadium (Chepauk) due to coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak as per India Today.

Several CSK players including the likes of captain MS Dhoni and star batsman Suresh Raina were training at the Chepauk ahead of the new season of the IPL.

However, the players are now expected to return back home as the training sessions have been called off as a precautionary measure.

The government is taking all required steps to control the spread of the coronavirus and IPL has been postponed as large gatherings or massive crowds in stadiums are to be avoided strictly, as per health experts.
