Delhi Capitals name Amit Mishra’s replacement

Leg-spinner Amit Mishra was ruled out of the tournament after suffering an injury against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR). He sustained a flexor tendon injury to the ring finger of his bowling hand.

After more than a week, Delhi Capitals have finally announced the replacement of injured Amit Mishra. They included Karnataka leg-spinner Pravin Dubey, meaning it is straight like to like replacement.

Interestingly, Dubey is already in UAE with the Royal Challengers Bangalore in the capacity of a net bowler. He was picked by Bangalore back in 2016 for INR 35 lakhs. However, he didn’t get any opportunity or the franchise and was released after two seasons.

The young leg-spinner has impressed in the Karnataka Premier League. He played his best season in the 2015-16 KPL when he took 8 wickets for Belgavi Panthers at an economy rate of 6.89. He has represented Karnataka in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy and has 16 scalps at an average of 19.12 in T20s. He posted his best T20 figures of 4 for 19 against Tamil Nadu in the 2017-18 season. The leg-spinner has also played a first-class game and eight List A matches.

Delhi Capitals are well on their way to grab a spot in the play-offs. They are currently at the top of the table with 14 points in 9 games. They have lost only two matches so far.
