Domingo hopes to develop new bright stars for Bangladesh
Russell Domingo has been appointed as the new head coach of Bangladesh on a two-year contract. He will join the team on August 21.
The newly appointed head coach Russell Domingo is determined to continue the develop of the current players and explore some young talents for Bangladesh cricket.
After being appointed as the head coach, Domingo said:
“I have followed Bangladesh’s progress with keen interest and I am extremely excited to assist the team in reaching the goals that they are capable of. I look forward to continuing the ongoing development of current players whilst also looking towards the future and developing some new bright stars from within the talent pool of Bangladesh cricket.”
Meanwhile, BCB president Nazmul Hassan Papon said the board was impressed with Domingo’s passion and coaching philosophy.
“We have been very impressed with his passion and coaching philosophy. He has a clear idea of what is required to take the team forward,” he said.
Domingo was also the head coach of South Africa before applying for the Bangladesh job. Cricket South Africa (CA) wished their former coach best wishes for his upcoming mission.
“Congratulations to Russell on this exciting new challenge in his career. Russell has kept us in the loop throughout this process and, although we are sorry to lose his services, we wish him well and know that he will be yet another one of the coaches who have come successfully through our development system to coach at provincial or franchise level and end up at the very top.”
