England appoint Jeetan Patel as spin bowling consultant

England Cricket Board (ECB) have appointed Jeetan Patel as the spin bowling consultant for the tours of Sri Lanka and South Africa.

England have appointed the former New Zealand spinner Jeetan Patel as the spin bowling consultant. However, it it not for a long period yet as he will be only with the team for the tours of Sri Lanka and South Africa.

The England Cricket Board (ECB) announced on Wednesday that Jeetan will rejoin the team on December 4. He was part of the England coaching setup in their recent T20I series against his national side New Zealand.

The off-spinner recently announced his retirement from Cricket Wellington and will play his last match in the Super Smash against Central Stags on December 18. He, however, remains contracted with Warwickshire.

Jeetan will join the England team ahead of the Boxing Day Test against South Africa in Centurion. He will continue in his role till the two-match Test series in Sri Lanka, which starts in March 2020
