Fans criticize Du Plessis for his adverse comments on Team India
South Africa captain Faf Du Plessis has been criticized for making hostile comments about the Indian cricket team back home after his visit to India. He also demanded to lift the toss from the test. As a result, he was criticized on social media all day long after that comment.
“Every Test match, they bat first, they score 500, they declare when it’s dark, they get three wickets when it’s dark and when day three begins, you’re under pressure. It was like copy and paste in every Test match,” Du Plessis said couple of days ago.
The 35-year old Plessis lost the toss against Indian skipper Virat Kohli in each of the three Tests. Even he tried to bring his luck by sending “proxy captain” Temba Bavuma for the toss in the third and final test but that didn’t change the fate of the Proteas as Bavuma also lost the toss and they had to field first.
“(If there is no toss) at that point away groups will have a better possibility. In South Africa, I wouldn’t fret that. We bat on green tops at any rate,” Plessis said.
Eventually Indian supporters are furious over Du Plessis’s comments. The resentment was shown in one tweet after another.
One wrote, “Did he give excuses? No, not at all. In fact, they did not learn to shut up. ” Another wrote, “Du Plessis never really learned to admit.” Another tweeted, “South Africa failed because Du Plessis could not rely. But you can’t even admit it! He is shaking his head at making such comments.”
Another tweeted, “Everywhere all teams have to play at any time. How long does Du Plessis shout for ‘Grapes are sour’?
