Ghambir names an Indian as the best fielder in current World
Fielding is one of the most vital part of a cricket match. Some players did this job with such a class that their name is still glittering after so many years. While there are some other current players who are still playing the role with such a fashion. Indian all rounder Ravindra jadeja is one of them to say. Former India batsman Gautam Gambhir believes that Ravindra Jadeja is world’s best fielder in modern cricket at the moment.
Jadeja is familiar in cricket world as a world-class bowler. There might be disagreement about either jadeja is best or not but former batsman Ghambir believes the class of Jadeja as the best.
“I think, in world cricket, there is no better fielder than Jadeja, an overall fielder,” Gambhir said on the Cricket Connected Show .
“Maybe he doesn’t field at slip and gully, but no one is better than him in throwing. No one covers the outfield like him. Put him at point or cover, you can get him to field anywhere. No one has a safer pair of hands than him. Ravindra Jadeja, probably is the best fielder in world cricket.” Ghambir added.
This isn’t the first time Jadeja has considered as the best fielder of modern cricket. Before it, former South Africa cricketer Jonty Rhodes, who is widely considered the greatest fielder of all time, also picked Jadeja as the best fielders in the world. He also heaped praise on the all rounder for his commitment and anticipation skill.
“Jaddu (Jadeja) has taken some fantastic catches. The key is he is very committed. He is very good at anticipating the ball also,” Rhodes had told Suresh Raina during an Instagram Live chat.
Jadeja has taken 115 catches in his career. Moreover, Jadeja saved 41 runs – 24 inside the circle and 17 in the outfield during 2019 World Cup , which was the most by a individual fielder in the edition of that Worl pleased Cup.
