Cricket Australia has appointed Brad Haddin as the fielding mentor of the team ahead of the preparation camp starting from coming Thursday in Darwin. Present fielding coach Greg Blewett will soon join as the batting coach of South Australia.

Brad Haddin retired from international cricket in 2015. He played 66 Test matches and 126 one day international matches for Australia.

Haddin appeared as a coach soon after his retirement. He worked as the assistant batting coach of New South Wales and later also worked as assistant coach of Australia under – 17 and under – 19 team.

He has been signed by Cricket Australia as the high performance coach until 2019. Excited to gain the opportunity of working with the Australian national team, Haddin said, “I’m really excited to find the scope to work with this young team. When I was a member of the Australian team, guys like Ricky Ponting, Andrew Symonds took Aussie team into a world class fielding side.”

“Whenever the fielding standard was bad in any match, they took it personally and inspired others to raise in that standard. I want to improve this team up to that level and make it a world class fielding side once again. I believe this young team has that capability. I am eager to take the challenge,” Haddin said.
