England right-handed batsman Alex Hales involved in a lengthy conversation on Twitter, supporting mankading.
The mankading type of dismissal in cricket came into the limelight when Indian right-arm off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin dismissed England right-handed batsman Jos Buttler by mankading in an IPL game between Kings XI Punjab and Rajasthan Royals in 2019.

Meanwhile, England right-handed batsman Alex Hales involved in a lengthy Twitter conversation, supporting mankading type of dismissal. He initiated the conversation, by answering a question posted by ESPNCricinfo. “What’s your most controversial opinion on cricket?” the popular cricket site questioned on Twitter.

Nah, it’s really not that difficult to stay in your crease until the ball is released

It can be but it’s not as relevant.. t20 often decided by very small margins, why should a batter steal an extra yard every ball? Doesn’t really matter in a test
— Alex Hales (@AlexHales1) January 31, 2021
How often does that happen though? Relative to t20

I don’t disagree, it’s not even against the rules it’s just everyone loses their minds when it happens 🤣.. stay in your crease in all formats, it’s not hard

Apologies

Just wait til it’s visibly left his hand? It’s not hard

Huh?

It’s not very ‘gentlemanly’ to try and steal a yard before the ball is released..

Fair point
