Hardik Pandya helps injured guard in training session
Big-hitting all-rounder Hardik Pandya has been out of the Indian cricket team set up for quite a long time. His comeback to the game was prevented after his rehabilitation from a back injury which took a longer time than expected and which is why he has to be replaced in the India ‘A’ team.
Hardik Pandya who is not named in India squad for Australia ODI series at home was spotted during the team’s training session at the Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai ahead of the opening ODI fixture. It was so good to see him at the nets as he swung his arms and then bowled at full throttle in the nets and also fielded intensely.
During the training session, Hardik Pandya won hearts with a touching gesture towards an injured security guard. Arfad Qureshi, a 21-year-old youth who was positioned at the boundary line at the Tata end was hit on his chest when Indian captain Virat Kohli smashed one down the ground. The impact was so bad that Qureshi fell to the ground quickly after getting hit.
Meanwhile, Hardik Pandya who witnessed the incident, immediately went up to Qureshi to check if he was alright. Then he offered him water and then accompanied him to the medical room, where the guard received medical treatment.
“I was in so much pain that I did not realise that it was Hardik bhai who had come to help me. He was so kind,” Qureshi told mid-day.
