National team selector Minhajul Abedin Nannu has informed that the likes of Anamul Haque and Liton Das will be touring Darwin. The HP squad will leave on July 1 after Eid-ul-Fitr. A series of matches will be played under the guidance of head coach Simon Helmot.

“We haven’t seen the team list yet, the coach [Helmot] is finalising that. But we know that some experienced cricketers like Liton, Abul Hasan, Mehedi Maruf and Anamul Haque will be touring.

“We are sending some immediate replacement players, those who can enter the national team if we need replacements for any reasons, and some for the development squad,” Minhajul told The Daily Star.

HP squad will play five one-dayers and a three-day match in Darwin against a sort of invitational team.

“When the first-class season in Australia ends, the players come to Darwin and continue playing; since the weather in Darwin is different from the rest of the country. The opposition will be formed from those players,” he explained.

HP squad: Anamul Haque, Tanbir Hayder, Liton Kumar Das, Alauddin Babu, Mehedi Hassan Siddiqui, Mohammad Mahedi Hasan, Shadman Islam, Imtiaz Hossain, Abu Haider, Azmir Ahmed, Abu Jayed Chowdhury, Imran Ali, Nazmul Hossain Shanto, Hossain Ali, Al Amin Hossain, Ebadat Hossain, Tasamul Haque, Nur Alam Saddam, Irfan Sukkur, Abul Hasan, Yasir Ali Chowdhury, Nihaduzzaman, Saif Uddin and Jubair Hossain

Minhajul also informed that a preliminary squad of 29 members will be having a training camp from July 10 ahead of two-match Test series against Australia in August-September.
