Rashid grew up as become the brightest star in the war locked country defying his performance for Afghanistan and then in the T20 leagues around the globe. The prodigy has recently been signed by Adelaide Strikers for the upcoming season in the Big Bash League.

Adelaide Strikers’ coach and former Australian speed star Jason Gillespie has had huge appreciations for the rising star of world cricket. Remarking his joining with Strikers’ as a ‘major coup’, Gillespie said, “He has some great variations, can bowl stump-to-stump and can be very hard to pick.”

As quoted by Agence France-Presse, Rashid said, “I want to bring Afghanistan the Cricket World Cup – this is the ultimate goal of my life.”

“I play cricket to bring victories for my country and to make Afghanistan proud on the world stage,” he said, “Now I want to play against the world’s best and to challenge the best teams on their home turf,” said Rashid.
