ICC rankings: Trent Boult tops ODI bowlers
Pakistan batsman Babar Azam has gained two spots in the latest ICC Test batsmen rankings and gained fifth spot after scoring 143 against Bangladesh in the one-off Test in Rawalpindi.
Babar has scored 4 tons in his last 5 Test matches.
Indian skipper Virat Kohli remained unmoved in the top position while Steve Smith, Marnus Labuschagne, and Kane Williamson retained their top-three spots respectively.
Australian opener David Warner and India’s consistent performer Cheteshwar Pujara slipped to sixth and seventh spot respectively slipping down one spot. Ajinkya Rahane is at the ninth spot. England’s Joe Root and Ben Stokes are at eighth and tenth spot respectively.
Meanwhile in the latest ICC ODI bowlers’ ranking, New Zealand paceman Trent Boult secured the top spot pushing India pacer Jasprit Bumrah back one spot, he is in the second position.
In the just concluded bilateral series between New Zealand and India, Bumrah failed to pick a single wicket where India suffered a whitewash.
Afghanistan’s Mujeeb Ur Rahman and South Africa’s Kagiso Rabada retained their third and fourth spot respectively. Rabada is followed by Australia Pat Cummins, England’s Chris Woakes and Pakistan’s Mohammad Amir.
Australia’s Mitchell Starc made a jump of two spots to secure the eighth rank. The other two bowlers in the top ten are New Zealand’s Matt Henery and Lockie Ferguson.
