India announce squad for New Zealand T20Is


India have announced their squad for the 5-match T20I series in the upcoming tour of New Zealand. India’s vice-captain Rohit Sharma and fast bowler Mohammad Shami returns to the side.

BCCI announced a 15-man squad for the shortest format of the game when they will be up against New Zealand in the five-match T20I series. Rohit Sharma and Mohammad Shami return to the side after they were rested for the home series against Sri Lanka.

Jasprit Bumrah has also made his return to the side after recovering from the long-term injury. He played in the last series against Sri Lanka and has also been included for the New Zealand tour.

However, all-rounder Hardik Panday has to wait a little longer as he misses out after failing a fitness test. Pandya last played for India in the home T20Is against South Africa in September, soon after which he underwent a surgery to deal with his troublesome back.

The all-rounder was named in India A squad for the tour of New Zealand. But he was later left out at the 11th hour with Vijay Shankar replacing him
