India lose top spot after almost 4 years, Australia secure number one spot

Coronavirus has led cricket for a break. All forms of professional cricket are stand still till now. But cricket ranking continues its regular flow. A noteworthy change has made in Test ranking of Test playing nations. Australia has secured top position leaving behind India at No 3.

After a yearly up-to-date analysis, the change in ranking has brought by International Cricket Council (ICC). While changing the ranking some facts were in consideration, performance of every team from May 2019 until the last game has considered hundred percent and last two years’ performance has taken 50 percent.

After the update, Australia has acquired 8 points and secured the first place with a rating point of 116. New Zealand has acquired the second place with 115 points. India has lost 2 points after the update and they descended 2 steps and secured third place with 114 points.

Although there is not much difference of points in best three position. This is the second lowest point difference in best 3 position. In 2016, there was only one-point difference in best 3 position with fractions.

India has lost their first place after a long time, about 4 years later. Basically 2016-17 session didn’t bring under consideration for ranking that’s why they have lost points. 2016-17 session was a successful season for India. They won 12 matches and lost only a single match.

No change has noticed in ODI Ranking. England tops the position once again and they acquired three more points, 127 in total. India is at second place with 119 points. Runners up of last World Cup, New Zealand hold the third position with 116 points. South Africa hold the 4th place while the top Test team Australia is at 5. Pakistan is at 6 while Banglsdesh and Srilanka are in 7 and 8 position respectively.

As like Test, Australia holds the top position in T20. They top the place with 278. England holds the second position having 10 points less than Australia. With an equal points with West Indies, Banglsdesh is at 8th position, where West Indies is at 7 due to more fraction points.
