India name squad for SCG Test
India have revealed their 13-man squad for the final and fourth Test at Sydney Cricket Ground from January 3rd.
India are clearly having an upper hand in the ongoing four-match Test series against Australia in Australia as they are leading the series 2-1 with one more Test to go.
The fourth and final Test of the Test series to decide the winner of the series will be played in Sydney Cricket Ground from January 3rd. Ahead of the match, India already lost Rohit Sharma for selection as he returned home to see his newly born girl child.
As expected Rohit Shrama will miss the Test and his name isn’t included in the 13-man squad. As a replacement for a batsman KL Rahul has been included in the 13-man squad but his final selection is a big question.
In the bowling department Umesh Yadav has been selected into the squad in place of Ishant Sharma. As Sydney pitch will offer more to spinners, India will aim to play with two spinners in the Test. Ravindra Jadeja will retain his place for sure.
Ravichandran Ashwin will be the 2nd spinner to go. But his availability is still in doubt because of his fitness issues. India have mentioned that his inclusion will be decided in the morning of the Test. In case, Ashwin fails to get the expected fitness Kuldeep Yadav might get the game.
It will be a tough thing to predict India’s playing XI as they have some options of combinations in the 13-man squad. Some times India will go with two spinners and two seamers. All of the decisions are highly depend on the fitness of Ravichandran Ashwin.
