Indian team gets terror attack threat on PCB email
Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) received an anonymous email popped up in the inbox that the Indian cricket team is under terror attack threat.
Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) received a shocking email on Friday, stating that the Indian cricket team, who are currently on West Indies tour are on danger. PCB immediately forwarded the email to the International Cricket Council (ICC) and the Indian cricket board (BCCI) also received a copy of the said email within the next 24 hours.
After receiving the email, BCCI increased the security of the Indian team in Antigua. They are to play the first Test match against West Indies at that venue.
Meanwhile, BCCI also confirmed on Sunday the receipt of the email to TOI and added that it contained a threat to “kill Indian cricketers”.
BCCI CEO Rahul Johri said:
“We have briefed the home ministry and shared the email. The embassy in Antigua has also been contacted and briefed. The Mumbai police has also been informed and the security of the Indian team in the West Indies has been beefed up.”
However, PCB thinks the email sounds ‘bogus’ and they believe it was a hoax and the team is under no threat.”
