IPL 2019: Venue and commencement date announced

Indian Premier League (IPL) 2019 is set to kick start on March 29 and it will be played in India as usual.

India’s biggest T20 league as well as World’s richest T20 league always has a special recognition among fans. The next edition of the league has officially launched by the player retentions and hammering process that happened in last year.

But there were some suspects wandered around the next season regarding the time and venue of the richest T20 league. There are two factors influencing the schedule of Indian Premier League 2019.

One is the parliamentary election of India which is all set to happen during Indian summer season, regular season of the league. This made many doubts regarding the venue of the league because of the safety measures.

The other one is the ICC Cricket World Cup 2019 which will start by the end of May this year. This created issues regarding the time of the league as each World Cup members will focus mainly on the event than IPL.

However now BCCI has cleared all the doubts among fans as they have revealed that the league will be played in India as usual but will have an early start on March 23 considering the above two key reasons.

“Based on the preliminary discussions with the appropriate central and state agencies/authorities, it was decided that the 12th edition of the world’s most popular and competitive T20 tournament will be scheduled to be played in India,” the BCCI said in a release.

The detailed schedule is yet to be released and the final decision will be taken after discussing with all the franchises. Because of these issues there is an uncertainty regarding the regular home-away format of the franchises.

It is noted that IPL Governing Council will officially announce full schedule soon after consulting with the franchises as well as the representatives from Government.
