IPL 2020: Iyer expresses disappointment over Mishra’s injury
Delhi Capitals (DC) captain Shreyas Iyer has admitted that losing senior spinner like Amit Mishra comes as big blow for the team. But they’re not panicking as they have good replacements in replace of him.
“It is disappointing when a senior player who was doing amazingly well gets injured but we have got good replacements as well. Chopping and changing spoils the atmosphere in the team so we’re trying to keep it really simple,”
Iyer said after the match against Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) yesterday.
Delhi got their 4th victory in five matches yesterday in Dubai as they beat RCB by 59 runs. DC captain has been delighted with his team’s performance.
“Getting four out of five, I will take that any day. Kudos to the boys and the temperament shown in pressure situations. Our strategy was to be fearless and play with full freedom. We have got good youngsters in our side, so we just need to go out and execute our talent and skills.
“I am very happy with the way things are going so far, and we need to keep up the momentum. When we come on to the ground we talk about comprehensive victories. The boys have been working really hard and we have maintained our temperament really well. It is important for us to get a good recovery,” he said.
Mishra’s replacements Axar Patel got 2 wickets in the match conceding just 18 runs in 2 overs. He’s also adjusted man of the match for his great bowling spell.
