IPL 2020: RCB to wear green jersey against CSK
Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) will play their 11th match of the current edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) on Sunday.
In this match against Chennai Super Kings (CSK), Virat Kohli’s team will wear green jersey instead of their red-black jersey as a part of their ‘Go Green’ initiative. Not just the players, but everyone on the team will wear the jersey in Sunday’s match, Bangalore authorities said.
Bangalore have played 10 matches so far in the current edition. Won 7 of them. Mumbai Indians and Delhi Capitals have also won 7 matches. However, due to the net run rate, Kohli’s team is at no.3 of the points table. On the other hand, Chennai is at the bottom with only three wins in 11 matches.
Bangalore will play in this match wearing new colored jersey. The team has been using green colored jerseys in one match of the IPL since 2011. The franchise has taken such a step to motivate everyone to plant trees with the message of greening in the world. As part of this, RCB refers a match every year as a ‘green match’.
“Bold Diaries: RCB Go Green Initiative. RCB players will sport the Green Jerseys against CSK tomorrow to spread awareness about keeping the planet clean and healthy,” announced the official Twitter handle of RCB on the micro-blogging website.
In the video, players like AB de Villiers, skipper Kohli, Washington Sundar, Aaron Finch and Dale Steyn have motivated people to plant trees, save water, and avoid misusing electricity for the better future of the environment.
