IPL 2020: Seifert to replace Ali Khan in KKR squad
For the first time, USA’s Ali Khan got a team in Indian Premier League (IPL). The Pakistani-born pacer became the first US cricketer to be participated in IPL. But he missed the opportunity due to injury.
But Kolkata is not taking any pacer instead of Ali Khan. Kiwi wicket-keeper batsman Tim Seifert could replace him in the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) squad. Ali Khan himself was the replacement of injured Harry Gurney in the squad.
As per a report in the Stuff.co.nz, Seifert is set to join IPL as a replacement which is why he won’t be able to participate in the ongoing domestic cricket in New Zealand. However, in which team he’s going to be involved hasn’t revealed yet. But it’s confirmed in the other sources that KKR have already signed Seifert as Ali Khan’s replacement.
Seifert is well-known in T20 format as he’s played for different franchise around the world. Seifert and Ali Khan had been teammate in Caribbean Premier League (CPL) this year as they both played for Trinbago Knight Riders.
25-year old Seifert played 24 T20Is and three ODIs for New Zealand. He scored 457 runs in T20Is with the average of 22.85 and strike-rate of 139.75. He has played total of 95 T20s in his career.
