Chris Gayle

The home side was just 14 runs short of making an impact despite boasting a good batting line-up. Credits to Kings XI Punjab bowlers for turning things around at the right place and at the right time. Chris Gayle deserves full credit for playing a tremendous knock, an innings of which he carried out slowly and then he paced it up quite brilliantly.

Gayle’s 47-ball 79 with 8 fours and 4 sixes was so good to watch. He was playing it with such ease but Ben Stokes trapped him out with a short ball as Gayle smashed it with full force with a hope of hitting a six but Rahul Tripathi near the boundary ropes took a stellar catch. Gayle was disappointed but he made most runs for the team. He was named the man of the match for his incredible innings.
