Ireland to host tri-series with Bangladesh and New Zealand

It will be a good preparation for Bangladesh and New Zealand as they will play a tree-series with Ireland in Ireland. The tri-nation series is supposed to be held in May next year. [Read in Bangla: ত্রিদেশীয় সিরিজ খেলবে বাংলাদেশ]

Bangladesh Cricket Board CEO Nizamuddin told to bdnews24, “Our talking with Cricket Ireland are at the last stage. It may be a very good preparation for us before the Champions Trophy.”

Ireland is demanding for matches from many days. They will have a home series against Afghanistan (5 match ODI series) and two match ODI series each against Sri Lanka and Pakistan. Cricket Ireland’s CEO Warren Deutrom says, “Our target is to play 9 or 10 matches in a year rather between the break of two World Cups.”

So far, 7 ODI matches have been played between Bangladesh and Ireland. Of them, Bangladesh won 5 and lost 2. Those two loses were in 2007 World Cup and in 2010. Last time these two faced each other in ODIs was in 2011 World Cup.

Ireland are currently on 11th position in ICC ODI rankings with 46 ratings.
