Ireland will play Afghanistan in the third T20 on Friday (12 August). Ireland won the first T20I and the second T20I and took a 2-0 lead. Afghanistan have a chance to bounce back while Ireland hope to seal the T20 series in game three.

Ireland trying to put on a dominating performance - Ireland finally managed to secure a win and finish the game well. Skipper Andrew Balbirnie, who was lacking runs in the T20Is against India, South Africa and New Zealand, finally delivered racquet in hand. The other positive for the hosts was Lorcan Tucker's performance. He once again proved his punching power and proved to be a huge asset to the team.
The hosts would like to continue with the same momentum, while Mohammad Nabi's side hope to turn things around. The first T20I had its side rusted and they couldn't fire together. However, visitors have enough firepower in the batting and bowling department. Rashid Khan and Zadran are in good form and Nabi would hope for the duo to fire.

Match Preview

Ireland have led the series 2-0 after winning the opening two games. They defeated Afghanistan in the previous T20I by 5 wickets. After limiting Afghanistan to 122, they chased the target with 5 wickets left. Afghanistan must now win all games to win the series.
The problem for the visitors was their batting. The batters underperformed in both games. Afghanistan's bowling, especially Rashid Khan, looked ordinary. Ireland are on the verge of winning the series but they will know that this Afghan team is not to be taken lightly.

Team Previews

Ireland's bowlers had an excellent game and never let Afghanistan off the mat. They bowled the Afghans for just 122 and only one of their bowlers went over 7 runs and an over. In fact, four of their leading bowlers gave away runs of less than 5 runs per over and also took two wickets each.
That bowling performance would have given Ireland a lot of confidence and we support them in maintaining their stranglehold on Afghanistan.
Andrew Balbirnie has found his form at a very important time for Ireland and he has been scoring very free runs. The move to promote Lorcan Tucker to third also seems to be paying off. Harry Tector, George Dockrell and Curtis Camphor combine to form a striking force that is significantly better than Afghanistan under the current conditions.

Afghanistan struggled in both games and were beaten fairly comprehensively. We think the only reason the team is still the favorite is their record so far. The reality is that Afghanistan's percussion is unreliable and lacks depth. A few early wickets throw it back and its batters just don't feel comfortable in conditions where a bit of pace and momentum is on offer.
The conditions are also what prevent his spin attack from dominating the way he normally does. There just isn't enough spin and the Irish batsmen can hit it with ease.
There is simply no way to justify the favorite odds that are now being offered for Afghanistan.

Pitch Report and Condition

The weather in Belfast is said to be superb on match day. It's very unlikely to rain and we shouldn't have any trouble getting the full overs quota. The playing field has been level so far. It helped the Searn a bit, but it also allowed the batters to score after the set. The small borders will always tempt the batters too.
A score of around 150 seems normal for the surface.

Betting Tips

We're counting on Ireland to win and win the series 3-0. The odds are still attractive and haven't really decreased that much after the two wins. We don't think Ireland's victories were accidental. They absolutely deserved the win and if we look at the two teams objectively we think Ireland are a better team at home.
Bet on Ireland to win.

Ireland vs Afghanistan Dream11 Top Fantasy Picks

Andreas Balbirnie After a brilliant 50 in the last game, Balbirnie scored 46 in the second T20I. The Skipper leads from the front and its shape makes it a good choice for our team.
Paul Stirling He wasn't in great form but we'll have him on the team as we feel like there's a big inning coming up. He gets starts but doesn't convert them into big scores. But the possibility of a big knock is always there
Rahmanullah Gurbaz had an ordinary play in two games but score it at your own risk. He is a quality hitter and will be determined to do well in the upcoming game. He's a match winner on his day, so we have him on the team.
Mohammad Nabi isn't the same player as he used to be, but he too will perform well soon. Nabi can win a team with the bat and can also do well with the ball, so he's a great pick and brings a lot of balance to the fantasy team.
Rashid Khan As previously mentioned, Rashid Khan needs to be on every fantasy team in a T20I game. He may not perform well but the expectations are always with him.
