Indian right-arm fast bowler Ishant Sharma has been ruled out of Indian Premier League 2020 due to injury issues.

Meanwhile, Delhi Capitals are stuck with another injury blow, as their right-arm fast bowler, Ishant Sharma has been ruled out of the tournament due to injury. The franchise itself confirmed the news via an official statement.

“Delhi Capitals fast bowler Ishant Sharma experienced an acute episode of left rib cage pain while bowling at a team training session on 7 October 2020 in Dubai. Subsequent investigations revealed that he sustained a left internal oblique muscle tear,” a statement from the franchise said.

“This injury will unfortunately rule him out of the remainder of the Dream11 Indian Premier League 2020. Everyone at Delhi Capitals wishes Ishant a speedy recovery,” the statement added.

This is not the first time that Delhi Capitals are facing injury issues in the season. Already their prominent leg-spinner Amit Mishra has been ruled out of the entire tournament due to a finger injury. Before that Ravichandran Ashwin missed a few games due to a shoulder injury he sustained in the very first game. At the moment also their wicket-keeper batsman Rishabh Pant is sidelined for a week due to hamstring injury.
