Both the batsmen have been well and truly sensational in all formats of the game and that’s what makes them special as compared to other cricketers. Meanwhile, Pakistan’s top batsman edged past Virat Kohli to become the new No.1 batsman in ODIs.

Kohli held the top spot for more than 1200 days but little did he know that Babar Azam would surpass him in the ICC Rankings for ODIs. However, Indians fans believe that Kohli will retain the numero uno spot soon.

As far as the latest ICC batting rankings are concerned, Babar Azam is at the top of the batting charts with 865 rating points. Indian skipper Virat Kohli comes second on the list with 857 points while Rohit Sharma is at No. 3 with 825 points.

Pakistan fans were happy that Babar Azam dominated the batting charts. While many users praised Babar Azam for his achievement, some Indian players highlighted that King Kohli is a chase master.

International Cricket Council took to Twitter and released the rankings. ICC Media wrote: “Babar ends Kohli’s supremacy in ODI rankings”. Meanwhile, former Indian Test opening batsman Wasim Jaffer decided to comment on the post.

The former cricketer hailed Babar Azam on his achievement but at the same time reminded him that Kohli loves chasing. “Congratulations @babarazam258 , well deserved. But don’t get too comfy at the top, you know how much Virat Kohli loves chasing 😉 #ICCRankings”

Kohli is also second in the T20I rankings whereas Babar is at the top of the batting charts. On the other hand, Kohli is the numero uno batsman in Tests and Babar is second in the Test rankings.

Kohli is leading Royal Challengers Bangalore in the ongoing season of the Indian Premier League. Kohli’s side secured 2 wins in a row to start the season on a positive note.

On the contrary, Babar Azam is leading his troops against South Africa in the T20I series. Babar strengthened his T20I rankings by scoring a century in the third T20I and helped his side secure a win. Pakistan currently leads the series by 2-1 and the fourth and final T20I will be played tomorrow at SuperSport Park Cricket Stadium, South Africa.
