Jos Buttler set to miss 3rd T20I
England wicket-keeper batsman Jos Buttler is set to miss the third T20I against Australia after breaching bio-security bubble.
After playing a match-winning knock of 77* against Australia in the second T20I, Jos Buttler faces a setback as he will miss the final game for breaching the ‘bio-security’ bubble that was put in place for the hosts. The hosts have already clinched the series after a comfortable victory in the last game.
England Cricket Board (ECB) released a statement, confirming the unavailability of Buttler in the last game:
“He will miss England’s final Vitality T20I Blast against Australia at the Ageas Bowl.”
Meanwhile, Buttler who played an excellent innings of 77* claimed the wicket got easier as well as the match went on.
“The wicket got easier as well as the match went on. We got through the first two-three overs and got a partnership that set us up for the rest of the chase. Credit to Moeen (Ali), he came out and took on the spin and when he got those two boundaries, he took the pressure off.”
” I was very keen to stay till the end after what happened to Australia in the last game. It wasn’t going to be easy for the new man coming in and that’s why I wanted to keep the responsibility of finishing off the game.”
Earlier, fast bowler Jofra Archer missed a Test against West Indies for breaching the ‘bio-security’ bubble. Safe to say, this is the new normal of getting punishment for the players.
