Just because we lost the series doesn’t mean we lost everything: Mominul
Bangladesh captain Mominul Haque has said that there are many positive aspects to be gained despite losing the two-match Test series against Sri Lanka.
“Of course there is something to be gained,” he said. “Just because we lost the series doesn’t mean we lost everything. Maybe there will be a little criticism, a lot of people will talk a lot. I think there are many positive aspects in it.”
However, the left-handed batsman is finding positive things in their performance. “In the first Test we played as a team as I wanted always. Which we could not play in the last 1-2 Test match. I think we were able to play as a team in the first Test. We only play well when we can play as a team. We can do better as a team when everyone on the team contributes.
“If you see Tamim [Iqbal] got two 90s, one 70. Shanto [Najmul Hossain] scored 163, Mushfiqur [Rahim] and Liton [Das] had a half century. Taijul [Islam] took 5 wickets. I think that’s the most important thing,” he added.
Pacer Taskin Ahmed had returned to Bangladesh Test team after much time with Sri Lanka series and he bowled greatly throughout the whole series as he’s Bangladesh’s one of the best performer. Mominul praised Taskin much.
“All may have been waiting to see if any pacers of our team can do anything,” he said. “You all saw Taskin. He’s much better now than before. He has improved a lot. I think there are a lot of positive aspects in this Test series.”
