Keeping sponsorship with Vivo left fans angry


After a lot of voices against the chief sponsorship of IPL, BCCI still confirmed Vivo as the chief sponsor. Due to political animosity, China and India had a confrontation a few days ago. The border conflict also affected the markets of the two countries. The enraged Indians called for a boycott of Chinese goods. However, only one Chinese company will sponsor the upcoming Indian Premier League (IPL).

Mobile phone manufacture company Vivo will also be in the role of title sponsor in this year’s IPL. This company is owned by China. Given the Sino-Indian confrontation, many Indians had expected that at least the Chinese company would not be given sponsorship of the IPL this time.
