Kevin Pietersen wants Shubman Gill as KKR’s skipper
Kolkata Knight Rider’s young talent Shubman Gill is one of the most promising Cricketer currently in India. His class and batting display showing the way for one of the future pillar of India. He was one of the members of the 2018 U-19 World Cup winning Indian team. However, he did a splendid performance in KKR’s against SunRisers Hyderabad in Abu Dhabi on Saturday.
Meanwhile, former England skipper Kevin Pietersen heaped praise on the young cricketer and wanted him as the skipper of the side. He wrote on Twitter,
“He should be the captain of KKR.”
After Pietersen posted it, many people have commented in support of KP’s tweet. In the last IPL too, Gill won the match by playing a devastating innings of 74 runs for the Knights. KKR won the match by seven wickets after chasing 143 runs against Hyderabad. Gill was unbeaten to the end and scored 70 runs along with 92 runs partnership with English skipper Eoin Morgan. Meanwhile, Eoin Morgan remained unbeaten on 42.
Gill and Morgan’s unbeaten 92 for the fourth wicket helped KKR win the match with two overs to spare. Chasing 143 runs, losing 3 wickets, KKR made 145 runs in 20 overs Playing an unbeaten innings of 70 runs, Gill became the man of the match. Although, Captain Dinesh Karthik failed to open the score with the bat, but the 21-year-old Punjab left the field unbeaten from start to finish in a style.
