Popular coaching face Gary Kirsten will reach Dhaka tonight (20 May, Sunday) to meet with Bangladesh Cricket Board officials. The highest authority of cricket in the country has long been in search of a suitable candidate to fulfill the vacant place of the national team head coach.
It is reported BCB has been considering Gary Kirsten and kept in touch with him who has recently joined in a development program in United Arab Emirates.
Under the two year contract Kirsten will conduct two training camps for young UAE cricketers in coming October. The first phase will run from 21st October to 25th of October and the second phase of program will be undergone from 28th October to 1st of November.
But the above mentioned responsibilities will not hinder Kirsten’s joining with team Bangladesh.
At present, Gary Kirsten is working for Indian Premier League franchise Royale Challengers Bangalore as assistant coach.
The early departure of RCB has made Kirsten available to visit Bangladesh for an interview after which his fate would be revealed for any imminent appointment.
Bangladesh former head coach Chandika Hathurusingha left the position abruptly after the country’s away series against South Africa tour last year. Since then the Tigers have been going through international assignments without anyone to guide on.
